Edgewater Automation designs and builds custom automation equipment for assembly and test applications. We have experience in a broad range of industries including energy, life sciences, transportation, consumer goods, and electrical. As our business continues to rapidly grow, we are accepting applications for our apprenticeship program in St Joseph, MI.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Apprenticeship Program – Administrated by the U.S. Department of Labor. Edgewater Automation will be the program sponsor.
  • Training – 4 years (8000 Hours) of on the job training.
  • Education – 750 to 800 credit hours of technical courses an approved community college. To be completed in 4 year period.
  • Progress Reviews – Apprenticeship Committee will review the apprentice performance every 6 months based on specific training requirements.
  • Wage Increases – Based on 6 month review apprenticeship will be paid a progressively increasing schedule of wages based on a percentage of the current journeymen wage rate.
  • U.S. DOL Certificate – If all training criteria has been completed in the 4 year period, apprenticeship will graduate and receive the DOL certificate as a Journeyman Machine Builder.

Applicants will be physically capable of preforming the essential functions of the job.

Applicants may be required to work at Edgewater Automation on a temporary basis for up to one year before being accepted into the apprenticeship program.
